RHYTHMIC ART
Community Welcome!
Rhythmic Gymnastics is one of the most elegant gymnastics disciplines, combining gymnastics, dance and ballet. Gymnasts use hand-held apparatuses, including rope, hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon and free (no apparatus, so called “floor routine”) and perform choreographed routines in front of a judging panel.
As a competitive discipline, rhythmic gymnastics started in the former Soviet Union and in years it spread out throughout the world. Top rhythmic gymnasts must have many qualities: balance, flexibility, coordination and strength are some of the most important. They also must possess psychological attributes such as the ability to compete under intense pressure, in which one mistake can cost you the title, and the discipline and work ethic to practice the same skills over and over again.
